*3 Calculated for permanent (indefinite-term) employees. Formula: (Number of employees who left during the fiscal year ÷ Number of employees at the beginning of the fiscal year) × 100. Employees who joined and left within the same fiscal year are excluded.
*4 We encourage self-directed career development, and we understand that many departures are for reasons such as career advancement or starting an independent business.

*6 Data covers employees under direct employment contracts with SMS Group (contract employees and part-time employees). Temporary agency workers are excluded as their impact on the overall workforce composition is minimal. (Figures and definitions differ from those for "temporary employees" in the Annual Securities Report due to differences in calculation methods and scope.)
*7 As of June 1 each year (the annual reporting date to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for the employment of persons with disabilities)

1. GHG emissions are calculated based on the GHG Protocol, using emission factors published in the Ministry of the Environment's "Emission Factor Database for Calculating Greenhouse Gas Emissions, etc., through the Supply Chain" and "Input-Output Tables," as well as those published by IGES (Institute for Global Environmental Strategies).
2. In calculating Scope 2 emissions, we primarily adopt the market-based method to reflect reduction efforts, such as the introduction of renewable energy. (Note: Emissions for overseas sites are calculated using the location-based method based on country-specific average emission factors.)
3. Figures are rounded down to the nearest displayed unit, so the sum of the individual items may not equal the stated total.
4. Scope 1 emissions for FY03/2024 and FY03/2025 have been restated following an update to emission factors to align with the latest international standards under the GHG Protocol. Consequently, figures for Scope 3 Category 15, which are linked to Scope 1, have also been revised.
5. For Scope 3 Category 1 in FY03/2024 and FY03/2025, figures have been restated to improve accuracy based on a recalculation using primary data obtained from major suppliers.
6. Due to the aforementioned restatements, some figures presented here may differ from those previously disclosed.
