Since our establishment in 2003, SMS has continued to increase the value we provide in the form of information infrastructure by creating new businesses and expanding our business areas in order to realize our Mission: "We aim to improve the quality of life by providing information infrastructure for an aging society."
Starting with the creation of "Care Jinzai-bank," a recruiting agent service for care managers, in which we aim to solve the shortage of elderly care professionals, we have created various business models and new services and developed new business areas such as Elderly Care Career, Medical Care Career, Elderly/Disability Care Operators, Senior Life, and Healthcare. In each business area, we have accumulated assets such as networks of professionals and customer bases through the provision of services and developed capabilities through the creation and expansion of various businesses. By leveraging these assets and capabilities to further create new businesses and expand our business areas, we have built information infrastructure for an aging society.
We would like to share our history of building information infrastructure for an aging society and continuing to tackle social issues through business creation and business area expansion.

SMS Co., Ltd. established
Recruiting agent service for care managers: "Care Jinzai-bank"
While the demand for elderly care services was increasing due to the population aging, the shortage of elderly care professionals supporting these services had become more serious due to a decrease in the working-age population. This situation caused the social issue: "difficulty in sustaining high-quality elderly care services"and in order to solve it, we created a recruiting agent business that facilitates optimal matching between care managers and elderly care business operators, solving the shortage of care managers.
Developed the business area of Elderly Care Career as a pioneer in the industry.
Information service on qualification courses for elderly care: "Shikatoru"
In order to solve the shortage of elderly care workers, it is important to increase the number of new workers from outside the elderly care industry and support elderly care professionals so that they can steadily build their careers and play active roles in the industry for a long period of time. Therefore, we created a qualification course information business that matches workers with schools offering qualification courses. Expanded the scope of Elderly Care Career by providing the services to not only care managers but also care workers.
2004
Recruiting ads service for care workers: "Kaigo Job"
In order to solve the shortage of elderly care workers, we created a recruiting ads business for care workers, in which we facilitate optimal matching between care workers and elderly care operators. In order to solve the social issue:"difficulty in sustaining high-quality elderly care services," it is important to improve the business efficiency and management of elderly care operators as well as solve the shortage of elderly care professionals. Therefore, in anticipation of future expansion into management support services, we created a software business, "Kaipoke," to support elderly care insurance claims, which is essential in the day-to-day operations of elderly care operators. In order to solve the shortage of doctors, we started a recruiting agent service for doctors.

In order to support care managers in developing better careers, we started a web community service for care managers to provide information useful in their jobs and a place for communicating with other care managers. In order to solve the issue: "difficulty in solving problems related to living in an aging society" caused by a lack of information related to living in an aging society in terms of both quality and quantity, we created a web community business for people who have worries about elderly care, in which we provide a venue for communicating with other caregivers and advice from care managers and other professionals. Newly developed the business area of Senior Life.
Job information for nursing students: Nurse-senka Shusyoku-navi
In order to support nursing students by providing job fairs and information needed to start a better career as a nurse, we acquired a job information service for nursing students from Infirmiere (currently Nurse Stage Co., Ltd.). Expanded the scope of Medical Care Career.
M3 Career, Inc. established
M3 Career, Inc. was established through a joint incorporation-type company split with M3, Inc. In order to accelerate the growth of our recruiting agent services for doctors and pharmacists, we transferred Doctor Career Agent*1 and Pharma Jinzai-bank*2 businesses to M3 Career, jointly operating them with M3. Through this joint operation, we accelerated the growth of these services by combining M3's media management capabilities and our expertise in the career business for medical care professionals.

Web community for dietitians: "Eichie"
In order to support registered dietitians and dietitians in developing better careers, we started a web community service for dietitians to provide menu reports and a venue to interact with other dietitians. Expanded the scope of Medical Care Career.
NURSCAPE CO., LTD. (currently Medilabs Co., Ltd.) , a company providing career-related services for nurses in Korea, became our subsidiary.
In order to solve the global shortage and uneven distribution of healthcare professionals, we acquired NURSCAPE Co., Ltd. (currently Medilabs Co., Ltd.), which operates career-related services for nurses, including a recruiting ads service and a web community service in the Republic of Korea. Developed the business area of Global Career.

In order to provide comprehensive support for improving the operational efficiency of elderly care operators and solving their management problems, we drastically changed the concept of "Kaipoke" from mere insurance claim software to a management support platform. In addition to the existing insurance claim function, which is essential to the day-to-day operation of elderly care operators, this platform started to offer a one-stop service that supports operations, hiring, purchasing, finance, sales, M&A, etc. Expanded the scope of Elderly Care Operators.

MIMS group, a medical information service provider in APAC, became our subsidiary.
In order to improve availability and safety of medical care in APAC, we acquired MIMS group, which provides medical information services. Developed the business area of Medical Platform.
School for workers in the elderly care field: "Kaigo Job Academy"
In order to increase the number of new workers from outside the elderly care industry and support elderly care professionals in developing their careers steadily so that they can work in the industry for a long period of time, we created an elderly care education school business, in which we support inexperienced workers in acquiring a first-step qualification and introduce them to good elderly care operators with employee training environments as their first workplaces in the industry, in addition to supporting care workers in improving specialized skills and acquiring high-level qualifications that lead to career development. Health guidance solution: "Remote Chat Guidance"
In order to solve the social issue: "more severe burden on the working generation" caused by an increase in social security expenses and a decrease in the working-age population, we are aiming to contribute to increasing the number of healthy people in the work force. Therefore, we created a health guidance solution business for health insurance associations, in which we provide remote health guidance by registered dietitians to promote the health of employees and their families. In order to further solve problems related to finding nursing homes and selecting elderly care services, we rebranded "Kaigo DB," housing introduction service for the elderly.
Now and beyond
In Japan, we have developed more than 40 services as information infrastructure in the following four business areas: Career (Elderly Care Career, Medical Care Career), Elderly/Disability Care Operators, Senior Life, and Healthcare, by leveraging assets such as networks of professionals, customer bases, and capabilities cultivated through the creation and provision of various businesses/services, in order to solve the three critical issues faced by the aging society: "difficulty in sustaining high-quality medical care and elderly/disability care services," "more severe burden on the working generation," and "difficulty in solving problems related to living in an aging society."
Overseas, we have been providing services in 18 countries and regions in order to solve the issues: "improvement of availability and safety of medical care in APAC" and " global shortage and uneven distribution of healthcare professionals."
SMS will continue to create new businesses and expand our business areas to enhance the value we provide in the form of information infrastructure and take on the challenge of solving social issues.
