COVID-19 Case Confirmed in SMS Group

 An employee of SMS Group working at its Sapporo Office (“the Office”) in Hokkaido, was found to be infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
 The employee had been taking a rest at home since April 21 and tested positive for COVID-19 on April 29. The employee is under medical treatment in accordance with the instructions of the public health center and presenting mild symptoms.

 In response to the case of infection, we are taking the following measures:
 - Disinfected the Office
 - Prohibit any employee from working at the Office for the time being
 - Follow-up the health condition of a person who has been identified in close contact with the employee

 In principle, all employees at all offices in Japan including the Office have been working from home since April 20 in response to the government’s emergency declaration following the spread of COVID-19.

 We allow our employees to work at office in only cases where it is difficult to work from home, but limits to the minimum necessary with staggered work hours and shifts. Even in those cases, We take thorough precautions to prevent the spread of infection, such as hand washing, gargling, disinfection, wearing masks, and keeping a distance between people.
 With the top priority on ensuring the health and safety of employees and their families, as well as customers, business partners and other stakeholders, and on preventing the further spread of COVID-19 infections, SMS Group is taking necessary measures to contribute to society through its business activity. We will continue to take appropriate actions based on governmental policies and action plans while monitoring changes in the situation.
