SMS’s Response to the Spread of COVID-19 Infections in Japan (Updated)

 We extend our condolences to the families of those who have passed away as a result of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and extend our sympathies to all those who have been infected. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude for the medical care and elderly care professionals and all those who are working on the front lines to prevent and respond to the spread of infection.
 SMS Co., Ltd. (Representative Director: Natsuki Goto) and its subsidiaries (“SMS Group”) have decided to take the following measures with respect to the working arrangement for employees at all offices in Japan, in light of the situation related to the COVID-19 infection.


■Period
 For the time being from June 1, 2020
 *This period is to be determined according to the situation.

■Working Arrangement for Employees
 Since April, employees at all offices in Japan have been working from home in principle, in response to the government's emergency declaration following the spread of COVID-19.
Going forward, we will gradually increase the number of employees working in offices, while maintaining a certain percentage of employees working from home, according to the local situations regarding the COVID-19 infection and their job characteristics. We will also continue to have our employees take thorough measures to prevent the spread of infection when working in offices.


 With the top priority on ensuring the health and safety of employees and their families, as well as customers, business partners and other stakeholders, and on preventing the further spread of COVID-19 infections, SMS Group is taking necessary measures to contribute to society through its business activity. We will continue to take appropriate actions based on governmental policies and action plans while monitoring changes in the situation.
